Deadline 18th July 2025
The proposed Lairdmannoch Energy Park development (ECU00004900), which seeks consent under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 for the construction of nine wind turbines (up to 180m), a 20MW solar array, a 20MW battery storage system, and extensive supporting infrastructure in Dumfries and Galloway.
The objection is based on clear and demonstrable conflicts with key Scottish national planning policies (particularly NPF4 Policies 4, 5, 6, and 22) and failures in compliance with the Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2017. It argues that the development poses significant risks to protected peatland, sensitive watercourses, designated landscapes, and fails to present essential environmental, carbon, and hydrological data. The objection requests that the Scottish Ministers refuse the application in full.
